She might think it's not descent or she might not like it so she use the church as an excuse for you to change the style.It not about Christianity it just how some moms behave.
An advice from me:If you know your hair is going to turn into a problem between you and your mom you better change it for the time being...Or found out why exactly she don't like the style and try to make her understand that there's nothing wrong with it.(also if she's too much worries about what people will say at the church you can try to gel the spikes down so that it looks more ''descent''.)Is a faux hawk hairstyle against Christianity? And why are Asian parents so strict about hair styles?

I'm a Christian and my favorite hairstyle for a guy is the Faux hawk :D It's not a sin or anything, it's just a hairstyle.
