From your age,and what i got from the little you were saying,i think this hairdo would be nice,i haven't seen a photo of you,to judge, but it's very manageable, and it suits almost every face shape,im a Beauty stylist, and in my years, this hairdo, gives natural light and opens up the face.

Just take in the photo, and try and go for a well respected hair salon, this hairstyle isn't hard, but more advanced then a little barber shop could handle.
It should cost 50 dollars,at a good salon. What would be good hair styles for tweens 11 to 12 yr olds?
Okay, teens look great with chopsticks in hair. You can push some in a bun for any place, any time. Just make a braid or bun and twist it behind the head. Then insert them. Search http://www.expertvillage.com/ and you'll find a video on how to use chopsticks to make a bun.
Or use flowers in updos. Use roses, lilies and orchids. If formal, use pens or pencils to hold the hair up in an updo, chignon or a French Twist. It really looks nice.
Get a bit of hair at the front of your face and tie it back like a pony tail. You will end up a pony tail and have your hair down at the same time! All my BFF always do this hairstyle to school and if you want the front bit you can include your fringe.
are they girls? then i suggest give then fringes or baby bangs , so it brings more attention to their eyes and the rest of the hair could be layered.
Mines black with brown highlights my cousins is brown with layers. She's 12 and I'm 10. Mines just curly and it looks nice canerow.
pigtails.
