Where did the following types of hair styles originate?

-regular braids

-fish tail braids

-buns

-dreadlocks

- microbraids (those tiny thin braids with elastics on the end)

-Afros ( the kind from Austin Powers)

- cornrows (why are they called this, why not just braids?)

I need to find this out. My cousin is going to have to write a research paper on culture and hair. And I do not know what to tell her.

Thanks.Where did the following types of hair styles originate?
Most likely in Africa with the braids.

Fish tail braids are Native American.

Dreadlocks are from Ethiopia (Africa).

Buns are from Asia.

Corn Rows are from North American urban areas. Because they resemble straight planted rows of corn.

All the other names are implied in the shape of the hair style.Where did the following types of hair styles originate?
Africa and Arabian Peninsula, is where all those hair styles originated.
